The 5k Race

The certified 5k course is USATF measured and approved. For 2017, it is part of the USATF championship. An oblong loop, it starts on Bryn Mawr Road between the Roselle Park District Clauss Center and Lake Park High School West Campus. It is reasonable flat and a fast course. The course has a wide start and a long straight starting line along Bryn Mawr road. It continues through the Waterbury subdivision and winds back to end in the North end of the Lake Park West Campus parking lot. There is one water station at the 1.62 mile mark. The entire race is on asphalt closed streets of Roselle. The course is clearly marked with signs and volunteers directing the way. Each mile marker is marked and has a large clock providing split times.

Runners are asked to line up according to finish time. There are many competitive runners in this race, please respect others by allowing faster runners to line up in front.

Use of Strollers: Please note –

  • Experts have concluded that there is an inherent danger of mixing infants/children in vehicles with competitive runners.
  • Child care is available by professionals for Free during the race.
  • All runners with baby joggers and strollers  MUST Line up and start behind all runners and walkers.

  • For the safety of everyone, please leave your dog at home.
